Lani Briceland, Central Coast Artist
Lani is a California native and resident of the Central Coast since 1996. Her interest in drawing and painting goes as far back as she can remember. Her love of nature has always been her inspiration. When younger her drawings featured plants and animals. Like many of us, her interest in art took a back burner to family and career for a time. In 1996 Lani had the opportunity to take a six-week road trip through the Western States and many of their National and State Parks. The incredible beauty of the landscapes compelled her to dive back into painting. Pastels seemed an obvious and convenient choice for a medium. Since then she has refined her skill as a Pastelist. She first began showing and selling her work in the latter part of 2008. Her landscape and seascape paintings are a tribute to nature’s beauty. Lani chooses to offer only original works, the only prints she sells are on her notecards. She takes commissioned pieces seriously and works with her clients to meet their needs..Also known for her portraits of pets, she enjoys capturing the personality and attitude of these special companions."I love seeing the smiles of people as they walk by a painting of a dog or cat I have on display, I get a a kick out of the honest joy and their connection with the subject."
Lani is a member of the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art , Morro Bay Art Center, Paso Robles Art Association, and the El Camino Art Association.
